You can only learn so much about a person with ticker tape style news. You see bits if information on CNN or hear about someone in the 15 minutes of history class that may be devoted to a person or event. However, this is hardly enough to understand truly what makes them who they are and what considerations lay behind some of the decisions they make. Presidential biographies were created to fill just this need.
In honor of President’s Day I have gathered what I consider to be 10 great novels written about, and sometimes by, presidents. This list is in no particular order and is in no way exhaustive. If I were tasked to choose my absolute favorite, my brain would most likely melt.
Without further ado:
10 Great Presidential Biographies
8. John Adams
These are all amazing biographies however I would be remiss if I didn’t include two honorable mentions. The following two books aren’t about a specific president, however they are two of the most interesting books on presidencies I have read.
11. The Presidents Club: Inside the World’s Most Exclusive Fraternity (I wrote a review of this one. Check it out here.)
